Below are pictures of the logic board repair on my iMac G5 (1.6Ghz).

Here you can clearly see some of the exploded capacitors. Notice the electrolyte coming out.

A nice close up showing some bloated and exploded caps.

I took this picture just prior to pulling out the Logic Board. I had to remove the power supply, ram, hard drive, upper fan shield, optical drive, and power inverter.

Here is the Logic Board coming out..

This is what the case looks like with everything out. You can also see the thermal grease left behind where the CPU sits on cooling system.

This is the logic board sitting on my anti-static mat. Above are the new replacement capacitors. I also had to order a high wattage iron to work with the solder. My regular iron wouldn't cut it.

Here are the bad capacitors after removing them from the board.

Here is the board with all of the caps removed.

The new capacitors going in.

The new capacitors all soldered in.

The logic board reinstalled. I missed taking pictures of putting on the thermal grease.

Everything assembled.

A view of the new capacitors.

A screenshot of the hardware test. The logic board passed!!
